I caught the end of an episoed of "winds of war" last night. Robert Mitchum was on a Wellington on a bombing raid. I thought at first that it had been filmed on the Hendon Wellington, but they didnt thank the museum so it must have been made for the film. If you get the chance to watch it I reccomend it.

Not sure what this is going to be like, I am always suspicious about programmes like this that claim one individual 'invented' something. I wonder if the film will tell how he was behind the disastrous move of TRE to Dundee at a critical point in war, described by Zimmerman as 'perhaps as destructive as the most devasting German air raid'?

Its been and gone and I wasnt any expecting any aircraft in it but there were a few in a documentary on the building of the Forth road bridge. There was a SAR Whirlwind in the background as the decking was joined up, and on the opening by the Queen four Shackletons flew past.

I've been looking forward to this programme, but after the first part I am sat here doing this as it's a very disappointing start  this Guy Martin chap seems to me to be a bit of a weirdo, even looks like one ! Also don't understand his strange dialect  Back to my music :-D

Maybe not ! But does he really come from there ? I absolutely love Lincolnshire, and just a soon as I can will buy a house there, Woodhall Spa, Metheringham or Sleaford. Just hope that we don't see any obscure items like the above mentioned around there.
