My grandfather was based in the US, most of the training I know of was based around Brunswick, Maine.
He lives in Cumbria near Silloth on the Solway ( AKA Hudson Bay ) there was plenty of FAA practice going on in that area of the Solway but I'm sure you know all about that one.

The Solway was mainly RAF ranges, the FAA had a few in the Fleetwood area but may have shared the RAF ones, although this is not recorded anywhere. As I'm still looking for all the FAA ranges it could be that I'm missing some. In some lists the ranges for FAA air stations were named after the air station so impossible to locate without any grid references or lat/long. It's still fun looking though and I am still finding "new" ranges after 4 years of research!
