Something a little different this weekend, just as a break from the usual Thor stuff.

Guard Post 336/54, as built at many USAF bases in the UK:

Not quite complete, the access ladder needs to be added and the handrail could do with a cosmetic tweak, but the bulk of it's there (including the foundations which you can't see...).

All the best,
PB

Everything on the ground floor and internally still remains to be added, it'll get done when I get around to doing the model properly. ;)

Anyone have an idea what the original paint scheme for this building was? I have an inkling the USAF liked things white in the late 50s...

A bit more tweaking to the Thor RIM Hangar model, thanks to Steve for digging out the interior photos at the National Archives at Kew.
I've added both pairs of main roof gantry rails, rebuilt the low-level gantries at the other end and started detailing the interior structure roofs with their support trusses for the false ceilings and catwalks above.

Still lots and lots more to go in yet....

Something a little more mundane for this evening, but still going to be a pain to rig before it's finished... ;)

Must be moonlight throwing that shadow. I can't ever recall being on duty and raising the Ensign at dawn and lowering it in the evening with the sun shining:)
