The drawing I have shows the inspection pit in the 3rd bay from the left & the concrete tyre strips in the others.

I have just dug out my RAFM plan, 12775/41 which shows the pit in the third bay.
There are 'hurters' to the front and inside the rear of the building there are 'hurters' up to a height of 9"
Colour photos taken at Wickenby shows the paint scheme inside

The 12775/41 MT shed at Lavenham has now been reduced to two bays, but one of the bays still has the pit in.

Hope this helps

MT Shed now with inspection pit & drain, concrete runways & rear buffers and half the roof sheets installed.

Now to sort out doors and the rear windows.

Have to say that i am not convinced about those concrete ramps in the sheds ?
Dont think i have them shown on any siteplan that i have but i stand corected if evidence is available but as said earlier in the photo shown, think they are post-war additions.
I shall dig out a few pics of my own and have another look ...

My drawing shows concrete runners on the ground with with rear buffers upto 9 inches high and ash inbetween, but nothing like that ramp in the picture.

Buccaneer,

Just for my information, how many hours on your PC to 'build' your MT shed... ?

6 RCAF Bomber Group (organisation, airfields, squadrons, aircarft, and their 70 crashes in Belgium (location, crew, evasion lines, cemeteries, PoW Camps, etc...). Busy for a couple of years !!!!!!

That's a good question as I sat doing it while watching TV maybe 6 hours on and off & I did it in Sketchup which I'm new to using.
