Hi

The one in the first pic, I built one for those for a flight sim version of Binbrook. I don't know what it is or what it was used for originally, I've been trying to find out. I think in later years it was used as RAF Binbrooks rugby club.

Here's one of NorwichPaul's picture of that very building at Binbrook it was behind the institute.

Here's the version I made for Flight sim.

Stevo ;)

Photo taken inside the Institute after filming the 'Memphis Belle' The serving hatches are clearly seen and at the far end, 'Enlisted men' another Nissen ran 90 degrees to this section of building as seen in the Sim above.
This was the middle brick section of the cluster.

I had a look at the Wickenby drawing yesterday concerning the 4-bay MT sheds and i have evidence to suggest that the first TWO bays had pits.

Regards to the Institute, the central brick construction section, also had a couple of pillars to support the roof, probably central to the actual roof and if you need the photo of this for your 'model' then give me a shout ...

AS much as i admire your skill at producing these on the PC, i just think that the doors look wrong. Photo's i have show the doors with vertical planking rather than panels.

I was guessing somewhat on the doors as the only photo I have with doors hanging all that is left is the framing, I'll adjust my model to show planking.

My next Sketchup model is the 11008/41 BHQ as you can see there is a fair bit more work to do yet.

These are superb buildings. Are you going to release them onto a flightsim site for public use?

They are done in Google Sketchup not sure if you can use that file type in a flight Sim but when complete I put them on the Google 3D warehouse.

Hi stevo
I have found out the following about these buildings and what there use was in the last years at Raf Binbrook. They are as following as shown by your sim drawing

The two middle ones were the Rugby Club, Motor club and Buffs,
The longest one was the Motorcycle Club
The small one at the end was Kart Club AKA Percussion Engineering Club.

They often use to hold partys in these buildings as well.
