Wash Common







This is the National War Memorial at Wash Common out of Newbury along the A343 towards Andover today. Most of the inscriptions are un-readable, these two are the only eligible one's.

Aldermaston









The only War Memorial that I could find today at Aldermaston.

Prestbury







This is the recently damaged Prestbury [Chelt' Glos'] memorial today. At least they never defaced the name plaques.

Honeybourne









The Honeybourne war memorial. This is at St Ecgwyn's church, one of two churches there. The other is closed. Photographed today.

Why on earth would anyone want to vandalise the war memorial in Prestbury???? And its not as if its a small memorial that could be damaged by a car is it?

Ive had a look on wikipedia and Aldermaston has got a war memorial. Of the 100 men from Aldermaston who joined up 22 were killed.

good question and not wanting spark a wider debate, even the Germans generally repsected French and Belgium memorials in the second war.

To the right of the spire, Is that dirt on the lens, birds or aircraft?????
