I'm really new to this site and absolutely enjoyed looking at all these photographs - thankyou to you all.

I do have a black and white photograph of me any old ATC squadron members in front of the Spitfire Gate Guardian at Coltishall. I would love to share it with you. Firstly - am I allowed as it contains people? And secondly - how do I do it?

Thankyou

Please feel free clinka, it its deepemed inappropriate then the mods will remove it but there are several ATC camp photos on here and elsewhere on the net, as long as it doesn't breach national security then it will be fine I am sure!

Welcome to AiX as well.

The photo is actually from RAF Sealand and dates back to the mid 80's. No buildings etc visible. How do I post it? I'm not too PC clever!

Took these today at Staverton airfield. I also noticed that the resident Javelin has now gone from the spectators area.

Hi, I've just registered after stumbling here looking for advice and information. I am ex RAF and now work at Hartlepool College as an aerospace lecturer. We have 2 Jet Provosts and a Gazelle helicopter for the students to work on. We also have a 3rd J.P in storage that the principal wants mounting as a gate Guard outside the college. He wants it wheels up/flying style on a plinth but we know this is a major structural task, considering the safety aspects of an aircraft built in the centre of town. We are struggling to find any structural information for these ageing aircraft and what structural mod's we would need to do to mount the aircraft.
Does anyone know of specialist firms that mount aircraft as gate guardians? I have contacted one firm in Newquat but drawn a blank so far.

According to jetagemuseum.org/Hurricane.aspx The Hurricane is a replica built for the BoB film and registed as BAPC72

Is the Vulcan nose stilloutside the clubroom?

I'm sure there are others out there but you might want to find out who mounted the Venom at Grove or the Hunter at Ford as both of these are on substantial plinths providing the illusion of flight. Unfortunately I can't help with who actually did the works but these might be a lead.

Many thanks for that information concerning the Hurricane. Yes, the Vulcan nose section is still outside the cafe. Hopefully stay there for quite a time yet as it was only positioned there last year. Beware if you call there a sign now says; Parking for cafe customers only. I was being watched as I quickly turned around and took the above photographs from the cab.
